HUNGER AND POVERTY PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP AWARD
The Patrick Cassidy Memorial Hunger Prevention Partnership Award is given to an organization or individual which has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to reducing hunger in Portage County.
Patrick Cassidy was a realtor in Portage County who also volunteered for many organizations. He was one of the original Hunger and Poverty Prevention Partnership and Empty Bowls committee members. Patrick was a “doer”; just give him a task and he always followed through. He headed the corporate sponsorship recruitment for Empty Bowls for many years and also volunteered behind the scenes for the annual Empty Bowls event.
He approached Trigs County Marker for fresh produce for the Mobile Pantry, which he then picked up and helped deliver. Patrick embodied a commitment to helping those in need.
The Cassidy Memorial Award goes to an individual or organization that exemplifies Patrick’s commitment to reducing hunger and poverty in Portage County. These organizations/individuals are nominated and chosen by the HPPP Board. The decision of the HPPP Board is final.
