Hunger and Poverty Prevention Partnership of Portage County
To proactively identify issues of hunger and poverty and advocate short- and long-term solutions
In 2020, the Portage County community lost one of their most cherished leaders.
Bob Quam was the former Director of the Salvation Army – Hope Center in Stevens Point, and a valued board member for the Hunger and Poverty Prevention Partnership. Bob spread his devotion to the community through his work with Empty Bowls, Rent Ready, Justice Works, United Way, and Emergency Partners of Portage County.
At the 2022 Empty Bowls event, current Salvation Army Director Leigh Ann Trzinski accepted the 2022 Hunger and Poverty Prevention Partnership Award given in memory of Bob. The award recognizes his incredible and tireless advocacy given to those often overlooked in our community.
